Thanks for sharing this perspective. I can see that point of view.

Personally, I would emphasise that we are all made in the image of God. That emphasises a goodness within us.

Of course, we all make mistakes that take us further from God. I have found that trying to ignore my sexuality or changing it did me far more harm in terms of my relationship with God.

I turn to 1 John 4 to be reminded that God is love and that where love is seen, God is seen. I think this is as true in gay relationships as it is in heterosexual relationships. I'd go further, and say that gay relationships exhibit more of a demonstration of God's love - they are love for the sake of love. Not procreation, not personal benefit (who wants to spend their life having these conversations, being condemned, called rude names and risk being ousted by family members?). I love my husband because I love him, because I love him. Just as God loves me because He loves me, because He loves me. My understanding is that it is God's grace that allows us to love like that.
