A poem of loss and grief

Memories tumble like grains of sand
in the arid desert of loss.
Fleeting and rushed,
I grasp for just one to hold.

If I stop looking at it
will it disappear?
Will it too be lost to the tide of time?

You appear in my dreams sometimes,
A rare happy dream…
